ENDOSCOPY

It is a procedure in which a flexible tube with light and camera is generally put through the digestive tract in order to study possible anomalies. The hospital is equipped with the best in line instruments to assist the gastroenterologist for any of these procedures. It is majorly of three types :

Upper Endoscopy - During this procedure the tube is passed through the mouth into the stomach and the opening of small intestine. It is done generally to check the bleeding of the digestive tract or incase stomach ulcers are suspected

Colonoscopy - During this procedure the tube is passed through the mouth into the stomach and the opening of small intestine. It is done generally to check the bleeding of the digestive tract or incase stomach ulcers are suspected.

Sigmoidoscopy - It is an out-patient procedure in which the inner lining of the lower large intestine is examined. This test is done to look for abnormal growth, inflammation or bleeding.
